i was changeing my valve cover gasket the other day an i put to much force an put an little crake in my valve cover...now every time i drive the car past 4 rpm i get motor oil in the spark plug area...is there something i can use to patch it up or do i have to get an new valve cover...

You should use one for most bolts on your engine.

if the crack is small(less than an inch) you can JB weld it. trust me. i had a crack in mine by the timing belt so i took it off to paint it black to match the car and i flipped it over filed it down and JB welded it and not a wet spot since.

JB Weld will work depending on the area and size of the crack. It is usually in the spark plug well area, which is hard to seal properly. As for the torque wrench, you definitely need it for everything on the car. However, factory torque specs for the valve cover will still crack it. Just make the valve cover hand tight or it will crack. I found this out the hard way.
