#5731, "Running again!! But..... still with issues (Tranny/Clutch Probs)"

Ok...
I got all my goodies installed and got her running yesterday.
Put on all the timing belt goodies, GM MAF, MAFT, oil lines for the turbo, new front axle, new balljoints, new swaybar links, Needless to say a lotta shit.
But...
I also put on an ACT 2600 and a Fidanza flywheel. Now when shifting into reverse I have to push the shifter all the way to the right with a LOT of force and pull back to get it into reverse, bewfore all this it was easy to get into gear. I checked the linkage, its not hitting anything, I added a washer behind the clutch arm pivot ball before i put the motor/tranny back in and I got a new clutch master cylinder cause my old one was leaking, also an extended slave cylinder rod.
Any ideas why this damn thing wont go into reverse without a fight??

Every time you pull your tranny that will happen. Just slightly adjust the linkages and it will be perfect. This has happened to me countless times before.

Pull up the leather shifter boot. You'll see the circular connectors that hold the linkage cables to the shifter arms. Pull out the pin and unscrew the circular piece or screw it in farther. That will adjust the length of the linkage cables.

Sounds like you need to screw it in farther to shorten the cable to allow you to pull the arm on the tranny into reverse.

A piece of advice though. That hexagonal piece that you can unscrew the circular piece out of is threaded on both sides inside. One or both of the two cables may have this piece so be careful not to put "too" much strain on the piece so it won't cross thread on the other longer cable.

It's running again shitheads.

Excellent!! Thanks Guys! I just adjusted them... Good as new, or, well, as good as a DSM gets lol. emoji

Another thing, my new ACT 2600 engages right off the floor. Is there any way to change that?? Theres no play in the clutch assembly, new master cylinder, no leaks in the slave cyl. and I put a washer behind the pivot ball and put in an extended slave cyl. rod.
What am I missing?

I did that when I installed the new Master cylinder.
I guess Im not sure where it should engage at. Mine engages slightly off the floor. emoji
