#4628, "uh oh. damn DSM gremlins are at it..."

Starting to have electrical problems with the Talon. I moved the car at work today and as I parked, I see the lights on the radio flicker a little. Then the idle started to get rough and CEL flashes. I gave it a lil gas and started idleing ok for a few secs and then it started doing it again. This time it stalled. I started it up ok and then same shit. I hope I can get the bitch home.
As if thats not bad enough. The GST, which is supposed to be my "reliable" car, lost it's muffler on the highway Fri night. I was in the middle lane so I just left it. It isn't really any louder except at WOT, it just looks "kinda funny".
So any idea what the electrical problem may be? Short? Bad alternator? Coil pack? I'm gonna go get the code checked if it runs ok tomorrow.

Alternator. Probably a bad voltage regulator. Unfortunately they are inside the alternator on these cars, so you most likely need a whole new unit.

So, I couldn't post last night but here's what happened...
I went out and it wouldn't start. I played around with the plugs for the power tr unit and coil and after a few tries of jiggling the wires and cranking it over, it started and ran fine. This is a new power tr unit. I have the old one too but that ones worse.
This is also a new alternator. I have the reciepts from the last owner (lifetime warranty), He told me this is the 4th one he's put in it. He said at one point it went through 3 in a matter of 2 months. This one has been fine for about a year and a 1/2.
I also noticed that if I hit the remote start button while standing near the front of the car, I hear a sort of arc-ing from the coil pack. I have a replacement coming soon. I hope that fixes it.

what the hell brand alternators are those, if they are goin out that quick you've got either a cheap Alt. or other misc eletrical grimlins running around your car.

The reciepts were from CAP. Which doesn't surprise me... I try to steer away from them and NAPA. I usually go to Advance Auto Parts.
Anyway, it started fine today and usually doesn't give me problems more than once a week unless I happen to touch the plug for the coil or power tr unit.
On to something of a more positive note, I hooked up a boost guage and A/F ratio guage today. I had logged it last weekend so I know that o2 voltage is about .98, which is fin since I'm using 390's with the 14b. Injector duty cycles were at about 98%. I'm going to wait till I get S-AFC before I throw in the 450's.
Boost peaks at 14 psi and levels off to about 11 at 5500 rpms. I'm still using stock BCS with the restrictor removed. I should've waited to see what my boost was before I removed it but, I couldn't wait.
Catback, UIP and turbo outlet elbow are next on the list. I'll get the S-AFC and swap the injectors after that. I just sold my NICHE's for $500 but, that's gonna get me a 3" APEX-i N1 cat-back for the eclipse.

Dude, you need to send the alternator to me and let me fix it. I can gurantee it will last and if it dont we will erplace it for like.
It's not those cheap ole parts house alternators. They actually are not brand new, they are rebuilt.
E-mail me and see if I can help you.
Thanks,

I'm not gonna mess with it till I finish the suspension on the Eclipse. I can't have both cars down at the same time.
I've been driving it daily with no issues so I'll just leave it alone for now.
Now my main concern is getting that friggin bolt out of the lower control arm so I can replace the bushing. I'm in one of my "I hate DSM's moods" right now.
