#3684, "How much is my 97GST worth"

I'm trying to sell my car, I was wondering how much my 97 GST is worth with 135,000 miles.

I know mods shouldnt really be important when it comes to BLUE BOOK value but I'm talking about selling my car on ebay or Auto Trader and hoping some kid will beg his parents to buy the car because it's a fast car.

I took care of this car I mean changed my oil on time sometimes early, just last week changed my timing belt, AC belt and the AC compressor. Also got my compression checked by RRE they said almost like new.

Hoping to get either a 350Z,S2000,STI or a Dodge SRT10 truck
Need to sell it soon.

Mods:
Big 16g ported/Clipped
Big Greddy FMIC
Ported manifold/02 housing
Quaife LSD
Rebuild Tranny
3 inch turbo back N1
HKS Cams 264 Intake/272 Exhaust combo
SAFC
2600 ACT
Lighten Flywheel
K&N FIPK
Greddy Profec-B
Greddy turbo timer
Fuel Pump 190
660's injectors
Tokico's 5 way adjustable shocks
Eibach Springs
Front/Rear Struts
Magnecore wires/NGK plugs
GSX conversion Dual piston brakes
18 inch rims
dont remember anything else, maybe that's it

Strictly IMO, unless you can get some kid to give you over book value cause it's modded, you'd be better off to part it out and sell it stock for "around" book value. You could get a little more or a little less depending on who looks at it and how fast you want it sold...

Yeah I'm just going to take a lot of these mods off, I think I'll keep my FMIC I might need it if I get the STI. I'll sell the turbo and the cams for sure (the cams i have about 3000 miles) I'm still leaning towards the Z or STI.

First of all, just because it is a FMIC doesn't mean it will work on every car. Secondly, cars generaly go for much less modded than stock. Put it back to stock and sell it for around $5,000. There area few reasons for the low price.

1. 135,000 miles
2. FWD
3. Going on 8 years old.
4. It has been modded. People can tell.

And it's funny how people say "thats a lot of miles for that 7 bolt". He already said it had near perfect compression. So why point out that it is a 7 bolt? It seems to be fine to me. It would have crankwalked about 70,000 miles ago if it was going to.

Umm... thats probably the average amount of miles on a 1G and people buy them and start modding all the time with no problems.
If the compression is good and maintenence has been kept up, there is no reason why that engine shouldn't go ANOTHER 100K.

Our old '95 AWD crankwalked for the first time at a little over 142,000 with no signs ever prior to it walking. There's no way of telling if or when they're gonna walk, we all know that. And there's no telling that it would have walked 70k miles ago if it was going to...

Edit: Milage wise, seems like 90% of people seem to get weary about a car over 100k miles no matter what engine it's got...

I was just stating that most of the cars that have crankwalked have done it well before 100k miles. (most around 60-80k).

Yes an engine can crankwalk at any time, but bearing failure at 142,000 miles is a lot more common in any engine than bearing failure at 60k. Crankwalk on DSMs is caused primarily by premature bearing wear. Bearings conking out at 142,000 miles can quite often be contributed to just normal wear.
