#3510, "problems with 95 tsi fwd....... electrical PLEASE HELP"

heres the deal... the car sat for a few weeks without being drivin or started. i went to start it and the battery was dead.

so my brother and i hooked up the jumper cables and tried to start it... somehow the battery cables got crossed in the process... well now its all messed up....

symptoms... wont stay running unless it has jumper cables from another vehicle..

radio wont turn on, interior fan will not run but no fuses are blown.

the little battery light comes on as well as a light on the right side that looks like a house or a garage or something.

please help!

Weird, I already responded to this but the post isn't here..

By crossing the wires, I guess that means you reversed polarity with the jumper cables.

You will most likely have to replace the following:

Battery
Alternator
ECU
Fuseable links
fuses, relays where applicable
Igniter
Possibly the wiring harness (really expensive and hard to get these days)

This can be quite expensive if you can't find the parts from the trader. This exact thing happened to my mother's Lexus and ended up costing about $2,000. Sorry man.

The light that looks like a house is your coolant light. Not sure why that is on but if it is what Jeff said then it could just be lighting up because you fried something. Good luck man.
