#3362, "rebuild labor cost?"

How much would it cost for labor to do the 4g63 rebuild kit at slowboyracing?

slowboy tends to be a little bit pricier, but you can always call and ask. If you're just asking for someone to rebuild your engine with their components you may want to call for a machine shop as well to compare...

Actually, in my experience, SBR is one of the better priced vendors out there. I just did a considerable amount of purchasing and they were equal to or better than most shops out there on most of my parts.

That being said, shop around anyway, because I could be wrong.

As to how much labor would cost, I'm going through the same issue right now. For the boring, balancing, assembly, and other machining, I'm thinking in the neighborhood of $6-900, possibly more. Then on top of that cost, you'll have to go out and buy all the turbo related parts including 14b, BOV, piping, SMIC, etc etc etc.

Those parts could add up to $600 or much more depending on their condition and how long you look on the trader. Overall the project you are pricing could be upwards of $1800 when it is all said and done.

Like we have been saying in the other thread, getting a full 4G63T longblock assembly (manifolds, turbo and other things bolted to the engine included) would only be around $1200 and you can get those from a large number of importers. Just be sure to ask for written verification of compression test numbers before you buy.

Hope that helps some.

It's running again shitheads.

When you say 1800 that means the turbo would be bolted on and ready to go with all the other parts needed?

Yes. But the $1200 I mentioned is for the exact same thing. Turbo engine with manifolds and turbo/wastegate already installed and ready to go. It's a used engine, but just get the compression numbers to verify that it is in good working order.

It really is a cheaper alternative once all the homework is done.

I think that is for them to assemble the motor for the 6 bolt into a 2G in addition to all the other things above it on the page. I don't think that applies to this particular situation of putting a 4G63T into a NT 4G63 1G. I could be misreading it however.

The $1200 I mentioned previously refers to an already assembled, used 6 bolt that has come out of a car with <30,000 miles. You get it from an importer and it comes ready to drop in (to a turbo DSM). All that would be needed would be ecu and wiring as well as the turbo piping for the smic and intake etc. That price should still come out to be less than getting the NT engine rebuilt.

I will see if I can find some cheap labor/free labor from friends before I go with a full engine swap or anything at all. I just needed to know the general area of how much things would cost.
