I have a line on a nice GSX... this is my first step into your world so I need some help.

The Car:'97 GSX 5-Speed, 75k miles

Are there any known issues I should be concerned about?
What vehicle-specific questions would you ask this car if you were me?

Thanks in advance!

make sure the 60k service was done... otherwise you're gonna spend a couple hundred on that..

check for shaft play in the turbo..

any mods done to it?
drive it.. see if it pulls hard or makes any wierd noises.. just the usual... there's more.. but this will get you started...

make sure the engine was never rebuilt. ALso, look around the drivers compartment area for cut up wire loom, or any indication of electrical mods.

open up the oil cap and see how bad the "yellowing" is inside the valve cover. See if you can feel the turbo compressor wheel for shaft play, although that may be a stretch.

Finally, take it to a parking lot and make a left turn circle depressing the clutch in and out. If it sticks, even for a second, walk away from the whole thing. If it doesn't, then do the CW test (probably the most important of it all)
