I found a 97 stock gst spyder with 70k in mint condition/leather also....its at a small dealership....dude was askin 9500 but I called and he said he'll let it for 7500 cuz its been there for over a month and his dealership is really small and doesn't have a lot of room....
eclipse GONE....02 JETTA 1.8T chip and intake, bailey DV and N75 H valve....

I read somewhere that the 97's have the highest percentage of crankwalk vs. other years (10% vs 5-7%)...
I agree about the 60k service too.. Ask about the timing belt and other service records. You could spend the extra 80 or so and have a mobile diagnostic guy come out and give you a report on the car.. Good luck

crankwalk, schmankwank... Take it for a ride, pull into a parking lot, turn the wheel all the way to the left while rolling in first, push in the clutch and see what happens. If it sticks to the floor tell the guy to have a nice day as you walk away. 97's are not the most prone either. It just as likely to happen to a 95 or a 99. They're all the new design 7 bolts...
