#2413, "GST pricing"

Hey all, i got a 99 GS and wanted to turbo it so badly but i realized its gonna be a lot more work than i anticipated. So i was thinking about selling my GS and getting a GST or GSX if i could find a decent one, I was just curious if anyone here knew the pricing of either a GST or GSX with around 60-90,000 miles,

Also i am aware of the dreaded Crankwalk, Is there a year of Eclipse that i should look for that had the better engines in it?? please adivse!

1999 GS hopefully T soon enough!

I've heard to stay away from 97's, but I don't know any truth behind that. Crankwalk is there, but it's not something that always happens, or even happens often. It's kinda rare, so I wouldn't obsess over it.

Loan value for a 99 GSX with 80k is about $8800, trade is $9800, retail is $11,850. You want to stay between loan and trade if you can.

Same year & mileage GS-T is $6975, $7750, $9575.

97 GSX with 80k: $5775, $6325, $7975
97 GS-T with 80K: $4875, $5325, $6825

95 GSX with 80k: $4350, $4750, $6225
95 GS-T with 80k: $3750, $4075, $5475

These are the NADA prices for the southwest area. It will be more if it's got lower miles, but 80k is average (no deduct or add) for a 99 model, so I compared other years with the same miles, but it's an add. Average for a 97 was 100k, 95 was 115k.

Do a search for "crankwalk" in the 1g/4g63 section and you will get all the answers you need.

Check the NADA or blue book for pricing. www.kbb.com www.nada.com

Do like me and find one with a blown engine, get it really cheap, swap in a 6-bolt and have a running GSX / GST for awesome price emoji

I'm getting a GSX for under 2,000 just needs a engine. Under 3,000 total after some parts / tune up and everything and I will have an awesome deal.

'95 GSX - Big16G ~ Leaks, but atleast it runs.

i could hook you up with a 1g here locally. (lincoln nebraska)

http://www.hibsgarage.com/talon.html

1992 Eagle Talon TSi, FWD 5speed turbo. Has approx 130k miles. Gutted interior and manual crank windows. Here is a list of the mods..

rebuilt 6-bolt 4G63 w/ about 10kmiles, no balance shafts, partially ported
intake and exhaust ports on the head, ported exhaust mani, ported o2 housing, ported both sides of 14b turbo, 2.5in full exhaust(no cat), 8.5mm wires, fuel pump rewire mod, dejon upper intercooler pipe, custom lower intercooler pipe, larger turbo outlet pipe, greddy type S bov, turboxs mbc, custom ground wires, no power steering, no a/c, short shift mod, boost guage, a/f guage. Also has a 2G MAF with proper harness and a K&N air filter.

I got the car on trade a little over a month ago. I since then have installed brand new rear brake pads AND rotors, new shifter bushings, new RR wheel hub, re-wired the MAF (with the proper harness) installed some factory wheels (in the pics) with good tires all the way around. Installed a new blower motor and solenoid so the heat works good.

WHAT IT NEEDS:
The motor mounts are shot, all three of them. The shocks/struts are worn out. The car was gutted and has no interior. Only has two factory grey seats. I MIGHT be getting an interior to put back in it. I have a P/S pump waiting to be put on (need to buy new lines).

OVERALL it's a descent project, just needs some TLC. I have been getting 26mpg with it on average, and it pulls VERY hard. I would say it runs a high 13 easy, probaly trapping like 105+mph. From a roll it's a monster. Only reason i'm selling is b/c i just found out my lawyer is gonna cost $1700 minimum, plus i'll need mone for whatever fines occur, etc. (my whole flight to avoid thing) so something has to go.

Asking $2k. MIGHT be interested in trading for any type of mustang.

if your interested ill talk to him

Why swap in a 6-bolt? Rebuild the 7-bolt with forged materials. It took me 3 months between not being able to find a 6-bolt and every respected person on this board for me to figure that one out.

By the way.... go to kbb.com and play around with mileage and all the options. That'll be much more helpful.

Holy shit guys, i MIGHT have a really good opertunity coming up this weekend. My good friend Chris just found out his Co-Worker is selling her 99 GSX. The best part is that she is in her 40s so you know the car wasnt torn up. It was prolly her mid life crisis car (i hope) I checked the pricing and unless it has insanly low miles, than its not worth more than 8000ish. Im gonna try and sell my GS for 7500 to my friend who is in love with it. I dont know much about this GSX except that it is the same Barcelona Red Pearl color as mine and its a 5spd. I will find out more this weekend and keep you guys updated. O yea one important thing is the reason why shes selling it, She just bought a Mach 1 mustange. this could work out to be a great thing emoji

If your friend wants to buy your car for $7,500 he needs to get his head checked.

Good luck though.

It was in an accident that caused it to need that new radiator, core support, etc. Accidents force the value of a car down to next to nothing usually. Plus it has dings and dents and scratches from what I remember. How many miles are on it?

I'm not saying you shouldn't do it. If you can get that much from a friend, go for it.

I can get a similar GS-T for the same price though. (Which makes sense because the OZ package was basically the same price as a GS-T anyway.) As long as you are happy with the trade is all that matters.
