#2224, "Are the 1g and 2g stock sidemount intercoolers the same?"
Boys and girls,
I picked up a local fully built 2gnt, with the Hahn setup which had the intercooler stolen.
Due to lack of finances (mainly due to the shop charging me DOUBLE what I originally though) , I now am thinking about using a stock 2g sidemount. One of the local guys has a 1g with the stocker on it and is willing to sell it to me but I need to make sure it's the same.
Also to the 4g63 gurus, how much HP can the stock sidemount sustain?
Thanks alot guys
Don't have the stock Eclipse anymore Just a stock Gsr now,

If you have a "fully built" motor where you can turn the boost up, I wouldn't use a tiny(yes, they're tiny) stocker. Probably not even good enough for 15psi on your setup.

The 1g is bigger and flows better than the 2G. If you are running around 15psi, which is what most "fully built race 2GNTs" run, the stock SMIC will be fine.

Jeff, Thanks for clearing that up. Believe it or not, I was going to just e-mail you for the answer but I figured I'd give the other guys a chance
I bought the car off a member on here "loeric" something like that, the shop that rebuilt his motor told me that it was all Hahn stuff that they ordered from
JE Forged Pistons 8.8:1 compression ratio, 3.465" bore.020" over, etc.
It's an automatic and it's for my fiancee to get around in, so 10 psi on the stock 1g SMIC is ok than?
didn't realize how expensive the HRC parts are. Guess the saying "gotta pay to play" really has some meaning huh? Once again, thanks to jeff and aaron.
Looking at both the 1g and 2g intercoolers, it looks like the 1g is closer to the HRC SMIC right to make fit? some pics for comparison
