#1861, "Found my problem . . . need opinions on fixing flow problems"

Alright, I'm cruising around without a front bumper right now, but it is hella sweet...all the looks I'm gettin'!!!!! Okay, I don't care about that, but I've been able to use my air conditioning again!! emoji YAY!

Now...I know I have airflow issues.

Options:
1) Spal fan for the A/C side (going to do anyways)
2) Cut front bumper
3) Put 2 spals between front mount and a/c condensor
4) Please list anything else.

Another problem. I checked my radiator fluid reserve, it is full of crappy looking water. I don't know if there is just shit in the block and it comes out, or what, but I think I need that professionally flushed to get all that nastiness out.

I haven't taken the thermostat out, just because I don't want to seal up the housing again, but I might pull that this week.

I'd like to do anything but cut up the front bumper, but there is obviously some air flow problems.

Any other suggestions on how to fix that problem??

I don't think you can get spal fans between the Radiator and AC condensor. People usually pull the condensor. You can try to run two sapl fans first and see if it helps.

You don't have to cut the front bumper, I just chose to do that. You can however get an aftermarket Front bumper that will flow air to the radiator alot better. If you don't want aftermarket, try cutting the black part of the front bumper only. Like This:

for you radiator flush, just drain, fill, run for 15-20 minutes, drain, fill, run for 30-45 minutes, keep doing that until the fluid looks ok. that is what they are going to IMO.

I can't say, I cut mine when I did the FMIC install. Looks better anyway. emoji
I would definetly try running 2 SPAL's, those things pull a TON more air than the stockers. I noticed a HUGE difference with just one on the AC side.

I already had an FMIC on the car when I switched bumpers but I had already cut the black part.

Agreed, although I've heard the stock radiator fan is better than a spal, and I didn't need one, that's why I've left it alone.

I ordered the monster 1360 cfm 12" spal from RRE. He said to put that on the radiator side, and move my smaller spal to the A/C side. But if I notice any difference in temps, I'm going to order another monster 12" for the A/C side.

I'm also working on some ideas to get some extra air between the condensor and FMIC. I'll keep you guys up to date on that as I accomplish things.

Oh, I still have the stocker on the radiator side. I said just one SPAL fan because I only replaced the A/C side so far. The only reason I even had to use a SPAL was because my stock one wouldn't clear the J-pipe.

My radiator side has been replaced with a very thin 10-11" SPAL and I still have the stock A/C fan, unless that is the stock radiator fan????

I dunno...

I got a SPAL on the A/C side for 2 reasons.

1. Having no lower heat sheild and no A/C caused the stock fan to mely into oblivion.
2. My old Dual BB turbo had the wastegate on that side.

do the heat shields really make that much of a difference?

my temps get a little high, and im wondering if putting those back on will help remedy the situation.
