I just broke my third rachet trying to take off one bolt going from the manifold to tie into the turbo. Ontop of that, I try tackling the front clip to make things easier. The 18" rims don't allow that to happen in the wheel wells. The air dam (top) that traps incoming air -- yeah can't figure out how to take that piece of shit off.

Well sorry guys. Had to vent.

Are you using a 1/2" drive? Because I don't even know i it's possible to break a 1/2" drive ratchet. Use that, and if that doesn't work, I've had to use a 5' long pole to get more leverage before; works very well though. If you do end up breaking the bolt, here's the vfaq on getting it out:

PB Blaster and a long pole or breaker bar for the manifold bolts, take the wheels off, and what air dam thing? Once again, we need to know what year and model of car.

i definetly had to use a breaker bar on the turbo bolts. Came out easy with that.

95 GSX. Air dam thing is some black plastic pieces in the front that keeps the incoming air going directly to the radiator and nothing else. Bottom piece came off, but the top piece keeps me from getting to the headlights. Yeah, I do need to jack it up and impact off the rims.

It was a 3/8. I was using 1 1/2" PVC piping to get more leverage - 4 foot long. I'd think that the PVC would break, but I was wrong. That's what life warranties are for I guess.
