Just get a sealed battery like an Optima and you don't have to vent it at all.

I think most tracks require you vent it. Reguardless of the type of battery

+1, at least to be NHRA legal and to run at any *real* sanctioned event you do.

Tee off of the hose that drains the hatch. You will need to drill into some of the plastic in the rear, but it is probably the least obstructive way to do this.
