#1457, "New Plan in the works...how does this setup sound??"

Alright, from my holy experience the other day, I've decided just to go all out on this car...except for a built motor...can't afford that right now.

Already Have but not installed:
New EGT Probe emoji broke last one

Already ordered:
Greddy Profec B SpecII Boost controller
PLX M-300 Wideband 02

Need to Get:
DLP Tubular Header
BB Turbo w/ internal wastegate (looking at two options linked below)
New FMIC - Looking at Spearco (linked below)
Injectors - Thinking about 720 or bigger (suggestions welcomed)
Electronic Fuel Pressure Guage

Anything else you guys can think of??

Let me know what you think of this setup

Well, I just wanted to congratulate you on getting a fire lit up under your ass emoji. Your choices seem to be fine, although I would suggest some cams to bring the top end alive even more emoji.

That will go in once I blow this motor up! emoji Or if this motor survives for a few months like this, then I'll get them, probably FP2's...but this is tapping my savings for all it's going to for now.

Any more suggestions?

Do a couple of searches on DSMlink, DSMTuners and DSMTalk on Turbonetics turbos and see what you find. Then after that decide if you want to still look into one. I have not own one personally but i have a friend with a who runs one on his honda. his best run is a 10.4 on it, however he is on his 3rd turbo.

From what I hear AGP is good with their warranties.
If you decide on the RS49 you may want to check out SlowBoy's G50 also.

Forget about the EBC and get a MBC. EBC's aren't very reliable and when running a ton of boost...
If you're going with a tubular manifold that will flow a ton and a big turbo, why would you go internally gate? Go external.
And finally, look into turbo's from FP, PTE or SBR.

He is getting a Turblownetics turbo tho....AGP just sells it. Seriously Dan, I would reconsider on the turbo choice. It is a hit and miss with Turblownetics.

Well since you are blowing your savings you might as well go all out. Add 880s , fp2's or 272s and a smim to your list.

Turbonetics turbos blow. If you research it thats all you will see. I am sure it works for some people but to many people have had issues with it. Also if you are goign with such a big turbo i would definitly go with a external gate. I prefer a o2 mounted gate. Both my manifold mounted gates creeped a little. One was a dnp manifold.

Why an electric fuel pressure gauge ?

good luck.

Thanks Remy, I am looking at 880 injectors also from SBR. I contacted them and they convinced me to go with their GT12 turbo, which is a 54 or 56 trim turbo in a GT30 casing, still bolt on.

I wanted to go internal gating because I have heard the 38mm internal gate is good enough, and I was also told it is a pain in the ass to either tune, or adjust an external wastegate? Any comments on either of those statements?

Also, FP2 cams are also on the list, I just don't want to take the VC off again and have to reset the timing belt and all of that... it might happen, just haven't made a decision yet.

Just with the stuff I have listed already I'm looking at around 4K for everything, so I'm going to spread it out over a couple months to make it a little easier, I might just spread it over 3 months and include an external wastegate and FP2's.

Also going with the electronic fuel pressure gauge becuase I'm not sure if my AFPR is working correctly and I sure can't read the gauge that is under the hood.

If you plan on running low boost, I would go with an external gate. Internals seem to have some issues in the lower boost range. IF you are running 20+ psi daily, you should be able to get away with an internal gate. On a personal note, I hate internal gates for any boost level.

If I were you, I would seriously consider the FP3052 setup. It's all the turbo you will ever need and outflows any other mitsu housing on the market. It is costly, but very much well worth it. It's very pump gas friendly and very easy to tune with DSMlink. With the DNP, FP3052 and o2 hosuing I was making full boost at 3400 RPMS. FPGreen and 3052 are prolly the two best street turbos around. By street turbo I mean quick spool with good power and friendly with pump gas (91-93 Octane).

If I were you, I would definitly get a MBC (like a Hallman Evo in car), a set of 272's, and definitly DSM link (if you weren't planning on it) With this, you can run pretty much as big injectors as you can get. So get at least 950's, since they won't be that much more than 850's.

Okay, I want a ton of his stuff...but...will a 1G manifold fit on my motor???

Can somebody else look at this sale and see if this would work for me?????

PLEEEAAASE!!!!

I want:
Turbo
Manifold
Wastegate
o2 housing
o2 dump
950cc injectors

If I could get these parts this cheap I could almost afford a 2.3L stroker rebuild!!!

I don't think there was much of a difference between 1g and 2g exhaust manifolds, except that 1g's are much more likely to crack. So that shouldn't be a problem. There is a big difference between the intake manifolds though, but you don't need to worry about thought.
