#13253, "Engine Swap"

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone out there has either done of heard of someone doing a swap from the 4G64 engine to a Nissan KA24DE engine. Reason I want to go with the KA is that it is DOHC rather than SOHC.

Thank you,
csagenlee

seeing that the nissan motor is a rwd, how will you bolt up the trans and a lot of fab work will be included. Might be easier to swap a 4g63 motor by the looks of the bay

Not all of the KA24DEs are RWD. The ones that were in the Altimas were FWD. However I was unaware that I could put the 4G63T head on the 4G64 block. Thank you for the info.

I'm sure it's possible, most things are POSSIBLE. My first questions to you would be:

1. Have you done an engine swap before?

2. Do you have the advanced fabrication and wiring skills that will be required, as well as the patience to work through 10,000 unforeseen issues?

3. If not, do you have ten grand laying around that you're willing to sink into this project?

There's nothing wrong with the 4G64. With a little research and modification you can mate a 4G63T head to it, but your internals will be the weak link. It's just my opinion here, but you could do a 2.4 build with your block and crank, just add forged internals and swap on a 4G63T head , turbo, etc... And spend quite a bit less.

if you have a convet you can use a gallant block with the 4g63 head. that's their version of the 2.4 swap. or you can just swap the motor for the 4g63 all together seeing the mount and everything line up on that body stay, not the 420a

The only v6 swap i have seen was the 3000gt twin turbo in to a gsx. So i do not.know if it would fit into the non turbo. But at that point it would need custom everything. Being.different is.cool but if ur on a.budget not a good idea

Okay, I was just curious if it were possible now that I pretty much know with my budget that it wouldn't be I can go a different route. Thanks for the info.
