ok i'm thinking about going to my local muffler shop and having them take the cat off and put a straight pipe on and was wondering if they did that would i get a CEL? i know when you replace the DP your supposed to get one cause of the O2 sensor but will it do it by just putting a straight pipe on? also i know there is some kind of re-wiring you can do to make that CEL go off if you get it so how hard is that to do? thanks guys!

yes, it will give you a cel, lots of times I have found muffler shops will do this if you give them cash (therefore they don't write a recipt) but of course as we all know you will only be driving it like this off-road. some say that if you wrap your rear o2 sensor in aluminum foil, or put a o2 simm on there you will not have a cel (o2 simms can be found in places like jegs). I do not have a cat, i remedied my cel by not having a bulb. ;P
