#12014, "1gen motor temp help,please help!!!"

I have a 92 eclipse r/s with the 1.8 sohc motor for a winter car & I am having problems when taking the car on long trips.

what happens is in town driving temps are some what fine but going out of town long drives the cars temp gauge go's all the way to cold & there is barely any heat coming out of the heater vents on high.

what should I do or have done to the car because it is freezing cold up here in Washington state.

only mod done to the car is CAI...

Thanks for your help...

VERY easy.
Buy a thermostat and gasket.
Take off the part the radiator hose attaches to.(also has the fill cap)
Scrape off old gasket, take out old thermostat.
Put in new thermostat, bolt it down.
Fill coolant back up, start car but leave fill cap off.
Check to see that it opens up as car warms (coolant will rise slowly).
Put cap on and take it for a ride.
