Most snorkels, LICP and SMIC will coated with oil thats vented from the valve cover. Pull the SMIC out and rinse it with gasoline. You won't believe the amount of black shit that comes out of there.

yeah you actually have to pressure test it while its on the car or you're not doing any good... alot of leaks come from the connectors

how are you going to pressure test the intake from the filter to the turbo? i'm just curious... also, its a common thing to have "blow by" with these cars, i.e. oil in the ic piping...trust me its not a big deal, i freaked when I saw it (my car only had 40k on the odometer, i almost blew MY head gasket) but it ain't no thing. just clean the IC, its fun, un-safe, and makes you smell great for the ladies!
what other probs have you run into? I feel bad that its taken so long for just a K+N install and (i'm assuming) an upper intercooler pipe...are you putting on a front mount or something?
vandy
P.S. I've asked every dumb question in the book AND freaked over all the same crap, feel free to IM me if you need help....

no, i took out the the filter and the pipe that connects to the inlet on the turbo just so i have a crapload of room to work, the pressure tester is plugged into the turbo inlet, my pump was leaking so it wasnt holding and my battery was dead from sitting for two weeks so my boost guage is reading 0 no matter what. i am gonna push the car into the garage and get it on a charger and then try to pressurize everything with a different pump. that should give me something. installing the k&n and the wires/plugs is just a side job to trying to figure out why i cant boost.
