I could do this but not sure if I want to. I have already been robbed once and I have to see it everyday when look at my passenger's side door. It has paint chips from the window braking. I dont want to have my s-afc somewhere that is visble and people would try to steal.

But this pics makes the center console looks so much better imo.

I've always liked the look of mounting it right there and that's probably where i'll put mine but i've always wondered too about it being an easy target for someone to steal. but i've been thinking there might be a way to make something to slide over it, sort of like the cup holder lids slides or the other slot next to it. but i wouldn't know where to begin forming something like that?

I like the look great,
But if ya have had problems being robbed I don't know..thats something I have never had to worry about yet *knock on wood*
Ya I would just figure something out like he said about maken something slide over top of it. Heck if ya have to forum the carbon fiber or plastic you might as well have them toss that option in also...shouldn't be that much harder for someone to do it for ya.

I always have a spare bottle on hand for unexpected guests.

if you've had problems with theft before,i wouldnt put it there. It looks great, but is very visible for theives. I would just run the wire behind the dash, then up along side the glove box. Thats how i had mine in the rs, and when i got out of the car i would just put it in the glove box and nothing was visible(no even the wire)

I dont know if you already have the safc or not, or if someone is looking for a tuning solution, check this out http://www.machv.com/ectuanddalop.html

It just came out a couple days ago or so. Its pretty neat, it allows you to do everything a safc does but it needs no monitoring, you can hook up a palm or laptop to tune, and then have it go from there. Or you can leave your palm/laptop hooked up for a nice display panel.

This would help with hiding the safc?!!!

after you tune an SAFC you have to monitor it?

Sorry this is a total noob question, but I thought once it was tuned, as long as you were in relatively the same temp conditions (not running the same settings at 95degrees F as 30F) you were good to go....

^^^^^^^^^^^^

With the SAFC, you monitor your O2's from the car to see if you are in tune, but more so you would monitor your pocketlogger to check knock counts and timing and the such. AFC gives you and easy and stationary O2 reading mechanism. It also has multiple settings you can save for different weather conditions.

It's running again shitheads.

looks pretty sweet, and if you didnt care about your climate control i say go for it. i seen somewhere where a guy has a cover to fit over his screen, so you couldent really see it that well. i just had my mounting plate stuck to the vents and i had to move it...i needed air! i ended up putting it on top of the steering column. now i can keep an eye on it with my reg gauges.
