Can you swap a 93 turbo TB for a 93 or 94 non-turbo TB? and also, are the Throttle position sensor ranges the same on a 90-91 and a 93 talon. Thanks.

The NT and Turbo throttle bodies are entirely different. I have not tried the swap, but they definitely will not bolt right on.

The 91-94 throttle bodies are identical, but the 90 is different.

Ok, but are the sesnor's output ranges the same on the 90 and 93 turbo cars? I know the TPS sensors are different from those years, but if you modify it to fit, would the computer notice a difference?

Ok, let me just tell you the situation...the last owner of my 93 TSi AWD put a 90 6-bolt in it. He left the 90 TB and intake on it and just pulled the wires out of the end of the Throttle position sensor's plug then stuck them in the car's wiring harness and wrapped it in tape. The car had an unsteady idle, but it could have been due to a number of things, including 30psi on one cylinder, so my question is could the TPS be contributing to the problem or is it ok? Thanks

Wait, you have a car with 30 PSI in one cylinder? Sounds like the TPS sonsor is the LAST thing you should be worried about. I had 30 PSI in one cylinder once, and when I took the engine apart, I had melted a piston. That is the main problem you may be facing.

Also, as far as the sensors go, I am assuming he would have to have the proper wiring for that year for everything to read correctly. I find it doubtful that you can just hack a wire into the 93 wiring for the different 90 style TB sensors, but I am not sure.

It's running again shitheads.

This guy was not a professional to say the least. I'll take a picture once I get home for you, the least I'm going to say is that it is not how it's supposed to be. Infact I think this guy just threw everything together real fast so that he could get it running and sell it, he had no intrest in doing things right(just wish I new that before I bought the car). But regardless I know that is a minor issue at the moment, that's why I just took the engine and tranny out this weekend. I'd just like to know all of my problems before hand so that I can hopefully fix them before I get everything rebuilt and put back in so that I don't risk messing anything up. I'd hate to have to do 2 rebuilds, especially since I barely have enough for one. Well thanks, and please keep the info coming.
