#10188, "ecu question"

i have a 90 awd, and i know only 90 ecus work. If i were to get a 91-94 ecu, and switch the 2 wires that are different, will that work? im in desperate need and i cant find an ECU for a 90 AWD. I have a 90 FWD but that wont work on my car... just trying to look at all options available

why wouldn't a 90 FWD ecu work? i know in 2g cars when people get DSMlink that it doesn't matter if it's FWD or AWD. And i'm gonna doubt you can switch the two wires, cause from what i've read and understand about ECU's they aren't something you can just cut and splice. i dunno though, i was just sort of curious about the 90 FWD not working.

Between a turbo timer w/02 voltage and an SAFCII my ECU is pretty well cut up and works just fine...you just have to be careful not to burn it out with arc'ing/bad grounds etc...

I have heard both. Yes it will work and no it won't. I do not have any practical experience with it, so go for it and let us know. If it doesn't work you can always sell it again.
