It's just a bad bad feeling seeing a puddle of tranny fluid on your garage floor.... :o

I swapped in a new clutch and output shaft seals a couple weeks ago, and yesterday the axle was sitting about 1/4 inch out of the tranny output. I took off the axle nut and pounded the axle back into the tranny. Seems to be holding for now.

What would cause this? My current theory is either wheelhop (alot) or that I tightened the 32mm axle nut too tight the first time.

If it's on the driver side I know on my car there is a carrer bearing that bolts to the block that holds the axle in.In my case one of the bolts on the carrier bearing broke off in the block cause my axle to keep slipping out.
