#12050, "on the topic of alternators....(well not really)"

Hey all,

just changed my alternator out...found a coupla *small* coolant leaks (Sweet its not the HG, I think!). Well I tightened up a few clamps (or loosened, some were too tight) and was wondering if anyone has any reccommendations on the type of clamp to use on the coolant lines to and from the block...the one in question actually goes from the water pump (I think) to the oil pump? I think I found another that had a slow leak...the first one was clamped with an aftermarket (it wasn't metric, thats how I knew) screw type clamp and it tore up the hose, but I think the other ones that you use pliers to open up (stockers) weren't gripping enough...any suggestions? How tight should these coolant hoses be?

Thanks!

Vandy

P.S. HAPPY NEW YEAR (I know its late, whatever)

I just use the regular hose clamps (screw type). It tears up the rubber a little, but as long as you don't tighten them too much they work just fine. They need to be tight enough that they don't leak
