Im going to buy my friends old 97 GST 5spd for 3k It has the following; 18 inch gun-metal rims ,3 inch Greddy evo exhaust Boost & Egt guage on a center bezel,Kevlar clutch trans has been re-done eboch sportlines w/ camber kit carbon fiber hood mirrors and tail lenes. the car needs the turbo and front bumper put back on and the mod for the crank cause it has a 6 bolt in it. Other than that its in good shape and has 80k miles on it. DO you think this is all worth 3k? Thanks ,(sorry for sounding like a BANME!)

Good deal? Yes. BUT... You are going to buy a car that is not running and chances are it's going to need some bugs worked out from the 6-bolt swap. If you do your homework, you should be fine. There are many write ups about 6 bolt swaps on the net and a few are very detailed. I say, Go for it!

absolutely a great deal...why is he selling so low? his mods alone parted out are worth that, or near it. Does it have the turbo there? And what "crank mod" are you talking about specifically? Is he selling b/c he wired it wrong and is giving up?
A 6 bolt swap is not terribly difficult as far as swaps go, but be sure to do your homework and read ALL of www.vfaq.com before driving on!

He had a built 6 bolt in before with a AEM he blew that and put in a old motor I sold him a year ago.He was saying you need a pointometer (volume knob?) to put on the sensor to keep the check engine light off. It has a 16G with a 20G exhausr side on it. The car has been sitting for about a year or so now.He just doesnt want to mess with it anymore. He was kinda of thinking about not selling it but I jsut handed him the $ and Im picking it up this afternoon. The car was sick fast before he blew up the motor. The only thing the interior needs to be complete is a headliner, other than that its in excellent cond. Hell it even has a set of MMATS highs and amp and a pioneer cdplayer. Thanks again for all the input and help.

For 3k you cant beat it. But like Tony said, be prepared to wrench til you knuckles bleed. It's just like my momma always told me, buying a non-running car is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.
