Wouldn't it be sweet to do that to an eclipse/talon, and see the engine through the rear hatch glass like a ferrari or lamborghini or something, plus have rwd, wow. If I ever get rich I'm gonna find a 2g and have that done to it

I know of at least one dual engine Talon, and there might be another one out there. Engine in the front and one in the trunk. I just found this, but it's not the one I was thinking of:
'95 GSX - New motor/turbo going in... '95 TSi AWD - For sale...buy me! '03.5 MazdaSpeed Protege - Stock daily driver '97 CBR 600 - Purple is a real man's color

I think sheet metal would have been lighter than ply wood. Not to mention, non-flammable.
The thing I hate about seeing stuff like this is there's no firewall. There's a reason why it's called a 'fire wall'.
If I was to design/build something like this, I'd have it enclosed in a case to contain a fire if there was one. Then, if one were so inclinded, they could use one of those gay roof scoops and actually have it functional so it either feeds the compartment or is 'ram air'.
Or, you could install one of those roof scoops like the old VW bugs had, for an oil cooler I'm guessing?
Could you imagine how hot that would be while sitting in traffic. For a track car, it'd still get hot unless it was properly vented.
