I may be moving to Texas(McAllen area) soon. Wonderng if there is a big dsm following there i know its huge in AZ. Hopeing it will be the same there.

I might have to leave my gst in MI too which sucks but if i sell before i go i might be lookin for another dsm (i want 95 white tsi awd). Any info on that area would be great too.

Not really, but there's alot of rice here that will give you the typical 'rev' when you drive by.

I've seen like 2 or 3 clean cars. The rest of them are kitted, primered, or wingified.

I'm around the Waco area.

I live in Hidalgo and I go to the local UTPANAM School. I'm pretty much in McAllen all the time to do or buy anything, its the town just north to mine.

I can tell you with all honesty that there is very little mature knowledgeable car culture anywhere in this place. Last time I saw a car group meet was on a parkinglot in nolana trying to show off their kitted Hundai tiburons with underbody light kits. And of course the camaro TA guys making fun of them. These websites are what I use for any kind of intelligent information on tuning and parts.

As far as DSMs go, I have a hard time even locating one for sale that hasn't had the interior pieces painted white or red. There is of course a few clean ones but I can count them with one hand. I get annoyed when I get the typical car genious asking me when I'm going to put nawz, rimz, and a kit or if I want to sell it.

There is a group of guys just south of the border in Reynosa (where I grew up) that get together regularly with their 2g's but I'm not really familiar with what their attitude is. I have however been told that most of them have underbody light kits on their cars.

I live in the Houston area. We have a pretty good following, check out http://www.htown-dsm.com and check out the forums there. You can see a couple of the hooked up rides and find out the latest meets in the area.

Too bad he's moving to McAllen. Sheesh.

I can tell apart the normal drivers from the ricers, though.

I'll wave at someone driving a 1G or 2G, and, in return, some give me a BOV salute (those that are boosted), or wave back.

The ricers, however, rev their car up to like 7000 RPM's, and then drop it in gear and take off.

I'm sorry.

PS
At least you're close to SPI. I'm in San Antonio, though, which is like 6 hr drive to SPI.

why are you moving? if you dont mind me asking? the rio grande valley is one of the fastest growing ares in the US. That being said, there are alot of job opportunities available here. Ive lived here all my life (21yrs), and realy the only thing Ive never liked is the weather, always hot, always windy. That gets old really fast, but other than that, the women are hott!!! the clubs are ok, the island is 30 min away, and mexico is 5 min emoji Now if you are talking about buying another gst....i have never seen one for sell lol, ive only seen 2gnts. So, i wouldnt be looking around for any eclipse down here, i got mine in san antonio however. good luck with everything though, and if you do decide to come down ill PM you my number so we can get together and show you around.

I don't really want to take back my previous post but I just saw a nice 1G 4G63 when I was pumping gas at the shell station on McColl and Ridge rd. I don't know if he was venting his BOV or not but it was really loud which is why it called my attention when it was flying by. It stopped at the corner of the station and took a right towards a neighborhood. He was really romping on the throtle prolly to make people hear his BOV. His turbine sounded so nice spooling up that it made me want to hurry up and save more for my turbo setup. I'm still not boosted but not for long... .

I guess I've had my brief sightings here and there but no groups that i know of that like DSMs in particular.

Who, on this forum, is where, in Texas?

I know Dino and Thura are in Houston.
I've got another contact from T2G who lives in the Houston area (Crossbreed).
Luke and Luke are both down there, too. Like San Antonio, I think.
KaptainMyke is in Houston?
Brynden's mom lives in Austin, I think.

I've been giving some thought to Houston, recently, but I don't know that I could tolerate the humidity. I'll take 110* @ 11% versus 95* @ 83% any day of the week. emoji

Lol, no. It's kind of prejudice in a sense.

For instance, everytime I come out of a store and see some rice rocket go to park, some white guy with a backwards hat and Jnco's appears.

He might even have multiple silver necklaces.
