#8232, "maybe my car wasnt meant to run"

I completely stripped the threads on the intake manifold where one of the throttle body bolts go in, trying to fix my boost leak with new tb gaskets. Swapping manifolds might be easier than trying to fix that at this point. I bought the shittiest 1g ever.

Have you tried using a tap?

Or you could always do what I sometimes have to... buy a longer bolt and a matching nut (assuming that you can).

Your car was meant to run, you are just not giving it enough reason to.

We all do stupid stuff here and there. Maybe you are too manly to be working with aluminum. emoji

I would try using a tap to make the hole larger to use with another bolt. Maybe there is a helicoil size that you can use. Its not hard if you have never done it before.

It's funny how we break shit on our own and then swear that the car is a piece of shit.

I do it everyday with my 1g.

Maybe one day I'll get to drive mine too.

Honestly it wasnt my fault. I gave it about 1ft-lb or torque before it ripped threads (spex it 14 ft lbs). Yeah im definitely going to try to tap it out and use a longer bolt (hoping to catch some deeper threads?) before I call myself shit out of luck. Turns out this last bolt was not the stock bolt when I compared it to the other one. It was about 2mm shorter. The person who owned the car before me really did suck the proverbial ballsack.

Haha thank you. It looks 20x better now though. I got much nicer 7 spoke rims, and clear corner lights...and got rid of the chicken wire. =P
