#5992, "Muscle Milk?"

Kinda off subject here, but hell, its the PITS emoji

Just trying to see if anybody else takes any muscle formula here, NOT steriods! (sp?)

I used to take some shit called CEL-TECH and I got some results from it, but it taste like open asshole aka SHIT!

Then the guy at GNC informed me about this new shit called Muscle Milk... So I got a jug of this and have been taking it for about a month now. I must admit, it tastes just like milkshake like they say, but I am not getting any results at all. I got more from the previous drink I was taking. I hit the gym about 4 days a week, and usually take the formula every day like it calls for since I get a good work out really at the shop at my dealership working.

Anyway, anyone else out here take any formula's out there and see any good results or anything?

Yea, I just take Creatine and protein. I dont go to GNC, its a rip off, most of that stuff is crap to me. Cell-tech isnt worth it for the price, just buy straight creatine, nitric acid u you want a good pump at the gym, and drink something thatll give you energy. Whenever I want to try something new, Ill go to a lifting forum and just punch it into the search. I beleive Muscle Milk is just a cassein protein, you would be better off with whey protein.

Edit: Protein wont yield any results, just gives you more protein, like it you want to add size. I strongly suggest trying Creatine, u will see gains esp. if you begginer. And its harmless. Reason you saw results from Cell-tech is because it had creatine, just save your money though and take it straight.

LOL Cell-Tech is the biggest joke around. I've tried Muscle Milk and it's not worth the price. 100% whey and creatine are the only things I supp with. Just stick to those man.

www.bodybuilding.com <- great place for info, I've learned a lot there. Those guys can set you up with an awesome routine and good diet. I've grown a lot since joining there.

I liked the taste of muscle milk. I used it with whole milk before bedtime. However, like the others said, get a whey protein and creatine. Also a daily vitamin. Stay away from as much $$$muscletech stuff as possible. My stack is;
Mega men vitamin, Hyper Growth creatine, and el cheapo whey protein

Take a gram of protein for each lb you weigh. I think you mentioned you drink one a day. Ramp that up to like 5 or 6.

I started a year and a half ago at 155. I am 190 now and lovin' it bitches!

Muscle milk works..

Creatine is not good for you. It will blow you up and the second you get off of it you will pop like a balloon. You will lose all of the size you gain with it. But if you want quick muscles creatine is the way to go.

a good creatine/nitric oxide mix is "No Xplode" It is about $40 from bodybuilding.com, it has all of your creatine, and helps you out with energy, to boost your stamina level for more pumps. Ive seen lots of results using it. Someone above stated to take 1g or protein per lb, If you want to bulk up, i reccomend taking 1.5. I've got a small frame, 5'5, 140lbs, and i bumped up to 200g of protein about 9 weeks ago, and my arms have gone from 11.5", to 14.5" in a little over 2 months, using just no xplode, 200g of protein, a multi vitamin, and eating a healthy six meals a day. Dont forget to drink a lot of water also.

Don't sell your car to 16 year olds...

Ya see I never took just creatine because I thought it was pretty bad for your body actually. I am not a small dude though either, 6' and 190lbs. I am going to look into straight creatine, that shit someone mentioned above I forget what its called already, some vitamins and a better diet.

Thanks guys.

Creatine is NOT bad for you. It is found in many of the foods we eat. All creatine does it make you hold water. When you get off it, you will lose some of your size, bur not all. I've taken it and then stopped, I lost some size, but not all of it.

Like others have said, all I take is Optium 100% whey protein after I work out (2 scoops) and creatine. I should take more protein but Im lazy.

Heres a pic of me. I dont have any befores, but I was that tall, skinny kid in HS. Im not huge by anymeans, but if you saw my starting point, I have come pretty far.

You guys are all small fries, lol. I'm 6'2" and weigh 265. Just eat more. emoji

A good thing to do is work out in the evening, then take in all the protein you can right after that and go to bed. Your muscles do most of their rebuilding while you're sleeping and they need the protein to rebuild fully.

You can make home-made cel-tech. Search google for the recipe. I used that for a long time.

Optimum Nutrition protein also tastes yummy.

First of all, if you wanna get big/in shape. Your diet and nutrition have to be solid first. Without that, it doesnt make any difference what supplements you take!! There is so much more involved in it then what "GNC" crap you shove down your throught. If you are truly interested in this subject then go check out www.T-Nation.com I spend more time on that site then i do here. They sell the best supplements available on the market. They have the absolute best Protein shake available. Everyone who cares about their body should be taking in Fish Oil on a regular basis. And on that note anyone who is taking Fish oil regularly to supplement their EPA & DHA levels should check out their newest supplement called
"Flamout". It by far blows aways any shit you could buy from GNC or Supermarkets. Also, Mike. They have a supplement called "Carbolin 19" which may be just what your looking for. I suggest you check out their site.

I'm in 2 "biggest loser" contests here locally. I more or less used it as the motivation i needed to get my lazy butt into shape. I started out at 208 and i'm down to 195 in about 3 weeks. Stop drinking pop and watch your calorie intake. I used whey protein and will be starting creatine soon. That combo worked like a champ for me back in the days of training for baseball. I'm just running now to try to get my legs back into some shape, and i recently started playing more basketball.

I noticed that Muscle Milk seemed to be more of a meal replacement. Its really high in calories and has a shit load of fat, but tons of vitamins as well. I chose to just get some whey protein and do like the others said by taking in a gram of protein per lb I weigh. Milk has 1g of protein per oz. so its a great source, that and CHICKEN!!!!!!!!! I'm trying to lean up and get back into shape before I start trying to put muscle on so i've stuck to a very strict diet and have been trying Hydroxcut's 24 hr deal to curb my cravings. I used to eat so much crap its not funny. Theres a lot of good advice in this thread, i'd stay away from Muscle Milk as there are "better" products available.

400whp or bust.

Okay I am going to take everyones advice and go with:

-Optium 100% Whey Protein.

and

-No Xplode Creatine.

This way I will have creatine and protein.

What should you suggest going with for the whey protein to start out with, the 5lb or 10lb jug, and I notice the Creatine only comes in 1.81 lb containers, how exactly is that taken?

I go through about 1lb a week with protein, youre quite a bit bigger than i am, so i would go for at least a 5lb container, so you wont have to run to the store every other week. with no xplode, youre supposed to mix 2-3 scoops with 8-12oz of water or any beverage 35-45 minutes before you lift. And on days you dont lift, take 1 scoop to keep the creatine in your body. Theyre pretty big scoops, 20.5g each and there are 40 servings(scoops) in each container. Its hard shit to drink, its supposed to taste like fruit punch, which is does, but overbearing thick fruit punch. throwing down my no xplode is always one of the worst parts of the day lol, but i feel so accomplished when its down.

theres the dates

The most i ever bench now is 265 on a good day. i really dont have a point in going much heavier than that unless i want a shoulder injury. i could probably max on 275-280

on chest i warm up with 135 x 8 x 2 and then start out with 225 or 235 for 10-12 reps, working up to 255 or 260. then incline and decline and some sort of fly

shoulders...i used to work them out harder than i do now. i usually military press 135, sometimes on smith. maybe throw some arnold presses in there. behind the neck presses sometimes, front raises, side raises. all starting out lower with about 12-15 reps, then working up in weight and down in reps

heres some more recent pics

diet when i was bulking...

sorry i had to whore it up in here...i love this stuff

How exactly are you consuming that many calories, and fat, without getting a gut?

moving heavy weight in the gym. most of them were clean calories and fat. its not like i ate mcdonalds 3 times a day or something. just because you eat a lot doesnt mean you will get a gut. you have to eat big to get big, nobody ever got big muscles by eating like a bird and doing high reps to "get toned." it doesnt work like that

i never put any activities in fitday

good advice there, i gained 30lbs by eating a lot and eating bags upon bags of the 10lb optimun nutrition whey. pull ups, incline press, squats and delt raises all change your body the quickest ive found, and make you the strongest.

like pj said, eat lots....rest and drink mad water. you'll grow.

Hey Fauch what's your height and weight? I just got into lifting weights again after a 5 year lay off and it feels good to be back in the gym.

i dont. i broke my elbow and it never healed right so it hurts real bad to yank up a lot of weight on deads. i do hyperextensions with a 45lb plate instead. but my middle back has gotten a lot bigger from t-bar rows.

im 5'6" 160-165lbs depending on the time of day
