Me and my friend found an AMAZING deal on a parts car. For $600 we are getting a car that the only thing wrong with it is a siezed bottom end. Its a 1990 FWD turbo. Blue (nice paint). Good interior, Electronic Boost Controller, Turbo Timer, Nice 17" 6 spoke rims, Koni shocks, 30k on rebuilt transmission, and other goodies! Im picking it up tomorrow =D. Honestly, If it was AWD, I'd just swap my engine it it. Its such a nice looking car. Pics soon.

Why make it a parts car?
find a donor bottom end, fix it, and keep another DSM on the road and not cannibalized or in a scrap yard

I used to have a 420A...

I honestly feel really bad about taking it apart. It really is a nice dsm. However, me and my friend are poor students. Me, especially. For example, I am spending $325 total tomorrow for the trailer rental and the car itself, and my savings account has $325.48 in it. The last thing I need right now is ANOTHER eclipse with its motor taken apart =/. I am actually making money by taking what I want, and selling the rest.

The good news however, is that our plan is to strip what we can, then sell the rest back on craigslist.org for a cheap cheap price. A true enthusaist will surely pickup the nice blue body. So I guess its not a TOTAL loss to the DSM world.

I'm pretty sure that its much harder than that. I think that asking if you can convert to awd is kind of the same as asking if you can swap a 4g63 in place of a 420a...its possible, but not worth it at all.

I was in the junk yard looking for some 2g eclipse parts and stumbled upon a 1g awd 6 bolt. The int was gutted and the passanger door was pushed in but the car only had 130k on it. What a waste.
