I'm thinking about making the plunge and buying a kart so I can race on the cheap with my friends. I'm wondering if any of you are in this sport, and if so, how much it generally costs you to maintain the habit =P.

I was involved with the sport when my boss Raced. To me it wasnt that expensive depending on how far you wanna take it. Budget a good 6000-7500.00 for a nice setup (kart and Pits). The rest is a 1-200.00 a weekend (again this depends on how far you want to go)
