Just curious on what are peoples thoughts on buying a salvage titled vehicle?

I know mostly its a no go whenever you hear about a car having a salvage title. But are there any exceptions? I've been reading about what it means exactly and what degrees of title they label them as. And just wondering on what others think about it? TIA.

It's kind of a lose-lose. If you're looking for a car that would otherwise be very expensive, its a fairly large risk to take getting a salvage title that something is critically messed up. Not to mention insurance costs. And if you are just looking at a beater, might as well shell out the few hundred $ extra to get a clean title.
