I don't know if anybody else has had this sort of luck or it's just me (or maybe something in the water lately), but the counter guy in the shop I take my car for repairs must have ridden to work in the back of a short bus today. I'm not used to paying someone for working on my car, as I've done most of everything myself before moving down south, but since I don't have a garage, I'm screwed for the time being. And one thing working on your own car gives you, as many of you will agree, is a great understanding of what sounds are good and what sounds are of the 'Oh S**t' variety, and what feels wrong while driving. Anyway, being that I had to work all day, I dropped my car off before work and my wife came back to tell them everything I wanted done. I wanted my passenger side half axle replaced (clicking under heavy load around corners), passenger side tie rod end (boot dry-rotted quite nicely), an alignment, and a new fuel filter (over 130k since I last changed it). The mechanic knows me pretty damn well and knows that I know my car better than anyone else, so he doesn't question what I need done anymore. The guy behind the counter is normally pretty good, but today he was a plain idiot. He called me at work after not listening to my wife or the head mechanic and started telling me the tie rod end and the half axle looked fine. Mind you, it was a very pleasant, high stress, kill me now sort of day to begin with for me and the last thing I needed was some guy telling me I don't know what I'm talking about, even though he didn't drive the car or look it over. Then he tried telling me he couldn't find the fuel filter, cause I moved it from the fuel rail. WTF. After ten fun minutes of trying to be some-what polite, I blew up. From what I remember, I said something along the lines of: "Just f**king replace that the f**k I want replaced. I'm not trying to spend money if I don't f**king have to. If I say there's a f**king problem, there's a f**king problem...." I'm pretty sure there were at least 20 or so extra curse words in there (I know I freaked everyone in the cafeteria at work). lol. Anyway, when my wife stopped by, the head mechanic told her the guy finally left everyone alone and walked around with his head down once he got off the phone with me. He told her to tell me Thank You and not to worry, my car will be ready tomorrow.
Someone please tell me that I'm not the only one this has happened to.
