#45163, "Combichrist CD release event"

I know EBM/Industrial may not be everyones' cup of tea, but I was stoked about finally meeting Andy LaPlegua, the man behind Combichrist. The man is a machine, but it's great to see someone big in a scene actually helping smaller, less known bands set up and tear down their gear. And it's even cooler when he chooses to be in the crowd, drinking with the rest of us, taking time to talking with anybody and everybody. It's awesome how Andy combines his metal and electronica backgrounds. It's like metal techno. But I found talking to him out of his Combichrist character even more amazing. He's a very humble person, which is very refreshing to see nowadays. (Plus, his Norwiegian accent is killer.) And he's even a classic hot-rod car guy. I can't wait to see him on tour in November.

... and here's one of him showing one of his cars in Atlanta.

Amazon has the digital version for about $9. The physical CD will go on sale Sept. 28. I couldn't wait that long...lol It's a little different than his last CD, but it grows on you. Haven't been able to stop listening to it.

Cool, I have them on myspace I'll check if Andy is giving away a few tracks for free.

Celldweller, pennywise and NIN has done it that before they might.

So, did they get a new guitarplayer I read that they were looking for one.

I heard about this awhile back, thats great its done.

Do you mean a drummer? Andy doesn't use guitars in Combichrist, but maybe needed one for Panzer AG. Not sure.
The new album almost has an older NIN feel. Obviously, it doesn't SOUND like NIN, but the mood of the album reminds me of when I first bought NIN's Broken album: It made me feel a little unsettled inside, but something inside wouldn't let me stop listening to it. 'They' is a perfectly moody, dark, and melodic track. Now I see what Andy meant when he told me that the production method was different than the previous albums. Don't worry, it's still Combichrist to the core, but it seems much more personal, like he took a scalpel to his soul and cut it open for the world to see the demons hiding there. 'Slave To Machine' sounds so painful. He was so excited about this album when I talked to him, and with good reason. He definately outdid himself, that's for sure.

yeah, thats right. I was thinking of margin of error a great local band. Thats similar to combichrist, but they went to a more metal direction, checkout their myspace. Cool, band.

I think their new drummer was from NIN. I've noticed NIN, don't use two drummers any more.
