Got a complete motor for $100. Not sure if its going in the Avenger or being used for my built motor.

Definately. I think this motor is the one Im going to completely tear apart and have the block inspected/rehoned for 10.5:1 pistons and crower rods. Unfortunately this motor sat outside of a shop for probably about 2 months. So far the only parts missing are the crank timing gear, the outer timing cover, crank pulley and some bolts. No accessories were included, but it was pulled out of a running car. I figured an intact longblock with 130k on it for $100 was a good deal. My block is getting close to 180k...

You're still running a stock head with cams right? I can see porting practice in your future.
Rusty crank snout isn't a big deal. It just looks like surface rust, a little fine emory cloth will take care of that without damaging anything.

Funny you should mention that...I started out my car scene with a Turbo Volvo. Whats cooler than a late 80s Volvo, that has more right angles than a box full of right angles, with a Garrett T3 turbo slapped on it, huh? lol. Seriously, that car was fun as hell. RWD, sliding it all over the place. At first all my friends were like Dude, its a Volvo...A few weeks later I was taking people drifting in random parking lots. They actually use Megasquirt for these cars too, which is where I first heard of it from. 300 HP would have been just a install and tune away. But then I found my GS, and then had everyone tell me its a waste of time and to buy a 4G63, and now I have a low 15 second all motor DD! Good times, good times..
