Greed. It's what ruined it for all the middle-class guys like us. I was watching SPEED and I saw a show about how the BMW Z4 is built. I thought the whole car was built in Germany, but just the engine is built there. The rest of the car is built in the US and then exported from here to the rest of the world. I feel that makes the Z4 more American than the Charger. I feel that we should support car makers that give Americans jobs, regardless of the domestic or import marque. We can no longer have that 'Buy American' attitude, because, unfortunately, the time where there was a clear line between American made cars and all other cars is long gone. It's a sad truth, but our country's car makers put the dollar before the people, and other countries' car makers are actually helping us out and building factories (think BMW and Toyota) and design studios here (think Acura, Mitsubishi, and Hyundai), giving us the jobs back that we, as Americans, had taken away by the greedy companys based right in our own country. With the way the car companies here have been, my views have changed, and I feel it will be a very long time, if ever, that I will feel different. I embrace all companies that give Americans jobs, from manufacturing to Research and Developement of Aftermarket parts. I was kind of surprized when I found out Mitsubishi was actually giving Evo Xs to several big tuning companies here in the States (like Desighncraft and the US division of Cosworth) to develop and test performance parts. We need those kinds of gestures from American-Based car companies (I believe the Big Three no longer deserve the title of 'American Car Companies', just 'American-Based Car Companies). Those are the kinds of things enthusiasts appreciate and embrace. And that's how loyalties are made. Focus on the buyers that actually have more than half of their left, that can be won over to a respective brand, not the ones that have one foot in the grave and have more money to spend on a car than 99% of the country.
