Did some engine bay detailing this afternoon for two hours. What I used is mean green sprayed on rag, literally soaked it both sideswent over the entire engine compartment including the hood and strut towers to loosen the dirt.
I went over it all again with tire shine, Wow looks alot better not perfect but ok for a first timer. I stopped for the day due its about to storm. But rain mosit will help degrease the engine bay because its pretty soaking with Mean Green as I type So all the moisture would loosen more of the dirt. My legs are sore, after two hours like doing it with a heavy chic, lmao. Tommorrow I'm going to take a spray bottle with clean water and spray it all down.

After, this Im going to change my valvecover gasket, sparkplugs. Because my VC leaking bad and little is seeping into the sparkplug well(4th cylinder) only from what I seen so far.

My valvecover will cleaned up some and so is rest of the harness with tire shine. I might also, change the black loom along the timing cover in REd, from the leftovers I had from my old white 1997 GS.

Thought I'd share.

Heres what I do:

Spray the engine bay down with a hose, then degreaser.

Take a wet rag and scrub everything down.

Take a toothbrush and do the fluid caps, valve cover, radiator, etc.

Spray everything down with a hose again, then dry.

Now wax the paint. Wipe hoses down with a little bit of Armor All on a rag.

By now you should have a pretty clean engine bay!

Post up pic of it!

I've never had a problem with simple green.

I'll post up pics, probably next week or so. My engine bay is clean but not perfect. Next on list the is replacing my oil pan gasket, car is burning oil bad. But, I hope my HG isnt blown.

My house was hit hard by lightning. It toasted the land line wires on the side, going to the transformer, plus the wires in the man hole or something.

It happend last Thrusday morning at 1 am and its going on 2 weeks but should be fixed monday the 17th which is start of week 3.

At&t Technians is damn slow, to repair this mess up. I thinking of filing a complaint.

I guess, Dimebag cursed me because Wednesday night I sold two 12ct unopen limited edition Signature picks for 50 bucks on cragislist. I'm not supersitian but I thought it was funny, and about shit myself when it happend. It was very quiet outside and all of sudden bam! my house was hit by lightning.
