#43007, "Interresting beers"

Pizza Beer -

It is like a mouthfull of pizza with a sweet sauce and Bass Ale. Smells like nasty pepperoni.

Good, but not buying again.

Moose Drool -

Great beer. Brown ale. Needing refill of this soon.

Anybody else have suggestions on what to try next?

Celebrator - Doppleboch, Expensive

Abita Amber - Amber beer, delicious

Abita Turbodog - Black like the night, somewhat bitter, but delicious

SA Boston Ale - smoother than the lager and not as bitter

Killian's Irish Red - It's red and irish. Need I say more?

Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout - Blacker than black

St. Peter's Cream Stout - St. Peter knows wtf is up with good beer

I like Old Scratch lager but all the beer places here don't keep a good amount on hand so I'm generally falling back on Amber Bock and Bud Light. emoji

Celebrator and Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout are two beers I like as well.

If you want a belgian ale that is interesting, try Grimbergen, it's a blonde beer, about 6.5% alcohol, a bit unique in flavor but not heavy at all.

Its funny you mention that VX. I actually gave that beer a shot a few weekends ago. Its pretty good, but heavy. After the 6 pack I was rather full, and moved to good ole faitful Miller Lite.

But then again, most dark belgian ales are on the heavy side.

Anyone try Mammoth Ale? It's a local brew from Mammoth Mountain in Ca. The bottle carries an inch of mold in the bottom amd if you don't sip slow, or your good buddy raps the bottle while you're drinking, the mold breaks up, and if you drink it you'll have the trots for a couple days.

Mold? Doubt it. Probably just an unfiltered beer that still has the yeast at the bottom..

LOL, I don't pretend to know much about beer as I seldom drink it but it sure gave Jeff the runs. As least he claimed that what it was.

The yeast at the bottom reminded me of my days in water bottling... ozone was pumped through the water before bottling to kill anything that would still be in the water, and if you drank it within 24 hrs of bottling (gallon jugs) you'd get the shits.
