--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Went up to the Army Recruiter today Sat Dec. 5th 1pm. Went pretty good, all questions where answered. Didn't take the practice asvab there but I did on-line and I know what areas need improvement.
I'm scheduled for Monday dec.7th at 1pm by commander Kurtz to take the practice test. If score 50 or higher, I'll be accpeted to take the Real Asvab in Cleveland. When I pass up there, we check to see whats available as MOS. It would take a month or after Christmas when I would leave for Basic.
Far as I know. I took the practice ASVAB 6 times so far. at www.military.com Omg, Damn its going to be 2 more times. Will keep you all in the Loop, for what's next. I've already told my family about but you guys are like an extended family, my brothers and sisters from another mother. lol

My first choice was the Marines but I'm four years over the enlistment age requirement. Army has alot more to offer from what I've seen on the web.

Good to hear. A friend of mine went to basic over winter and he said it was horrible. They make you stay outside like 4 days in a row. But he got through it and so will you. Will make you a better person. Good luck man and keep us informed!

Will do.
Wow, I didn't hear about that. But, I hear about watch for the fire-ants and brown poisonus spiders, while doing pushups. At fort Jackson, I work with guy who's in Ohio guard, told about how he got bite a few times by the ants and another recruit was bit by the brown spider, he arm swollen up like Popeye. Thankyou for the tip about what your friend went through. I'll add it to my of things to expect and watch out for.

I watched a youtube video about the US army Sniper school mos 11b. Its supposed to be the hardest PT but looks like alot of fun. This is my third MOS choice, first one is 63B and second 63M.

Cool, thing about 63B and 63M is. I'm familar work on trucks, and I had a job as a yard-man doing maintence on Back hoes, and dozers. These two military Occupational Specialty is mechanic and Brady maintainer/mechanic. This is a great for me to learn more and gain extra experience, to achieve an ASE or master's after all this training. This is my main goal, to be certified. Sniper degree well that's taking it further than my father, he was a certfied marksman and sharpshooter.

Good for you, my man. Try to rememeber through basic, that it really is adversity that makes us stronger (and don't forget the old faithful "this too shall pass").

On a side note. There's an awful lot of letters to deal with in the forces, lol.

Good luck,

Enlisting? Good on you, man.

I never had the balls to do it.

Just do whatever the DI tells you to do and you'll be fine.

We're all rooting for you. Ditto on the "this too shall to come to pass" bit - they'll push you to your limits, but you will prevail no doubt.

You are in for a surprise if you think things like that are topics of concern.

Correct, but I already know what to expect from basic. From both Army and Marines. This was last thing he told me and showed his arm from the ants. I did my homework on both branches before I went to see my Army recruiter. The time limit on the practice asvab is Bs, they should get rid of it.

By, they way Dave. If there's a gunnery sergeant Barnum at Ft. Camp Pendleton. If you see him, mention to him brother Dale from Wally Armour said" Hi". He was my old boss, when I worked there. He's a cool guy.

Best of luck on your new upcoming career. There are bunch of us in here who are in the service also in different branches. I'm on my 11 year mark now in my AF career so might as well do the full 20 and retire at 39 years old then start a second career.
