can anybody tell me what year / model this is?
yes i know its a mustang lol, other then that all i could tell you was that it was a fastback and had the twin hood ducts.

i saw a car on the side of the road for sale that was VERY similar to this in some small town i passed through last weekend.
and since the wife wants me to get a "Real" project car, i was curious

you old school guys . . . any opinions on this? (besides it not being a Mopar, sorry Terry emoji )

That looks like a 1970 something gt,cobra or Mach 1.

Nice find emoji cough cough emoji

Good project though, my mother had a Mach1 like that hers was red with black rally strips.

My cousin had the evil twin of that same car his was 78 hatchback and had its sister a 74 mustangII.

Do a search on yahoo/goole use key words like 1970 ford hatchback or add gt cobra or mach1 in there.

1972 Mach 1, in Germany. Not stock.

But let's get Barza in here for a definitive answer.

Similar angle, rear pillar looks much wider on a fastback?-

I will admit getting help from one of the "old timers" at work emoji

I remember when Toyota changed their logo and gas was 0.88/gal emoji at least you had cool cars growing up.

It could also be a Boss 302 painted red, the mach1 and the Boss 302 are some indentical rally stripes but the boss has the 302 boss underneath the number, something like that.

Cool, yup thats looks like my momma's old whip. It kinda brings back some old memories I was 4 when my mother had this mach 1 fastback, at same time my father owned a 70 Challenger r/t with 427 hemi, while he worked at a Chrysler Plant in Detroit. .

That pic has MUCH more angle than the first pic. Window lines and the pillar is the same so I'd go with AzDave's call
