Got my SRT4- sold my turbo kit but will still be keeping the eclipse around as well. love the srt4, have already started to modify it, but my f-ing god what a bunch of morons on the Srt forums. Theres a few knowledgable people. Honestly i miss you guys and I'll always stick around here. I really dont trust the search feature on the Srtforums.
I mean honestly; and go check if you want to , the most replyed to message on srtforums.com righ now is "Help me install a hookah in my srt4" Really
Ill post some pics up of the new ride and the few mods i've already done tomorrow probably. (turbotimer, 3inch turboback, catchcan, 17PSI wastegate)

congrats on the new ride. i came really close to getting one of those before i picked up my gtp but the insurance wouldve been ridiculous. i did some reasearch on srtforums back when i was considering the car and i agree, there are quite a few dipshits on there.

insurance, honestly isnt that bad. im under 25, (23) and i've got full coverage on both the eclipse and the srt under my name w/ homeowners insurance discount for 139.50 per month. also have good driver discount (+5 years clean driving) and some kinda new car discount. just told allstate that the srt is kinda secondary car, not necessarily recreational and they were cool with it. even told them i would drive it to work sometimes. Allstate has always done me right, and the insurance agent said if i ever did anything modification wise to save the reciepts that they are pretty good about covering that stuff to an extent.

well im 21 in a month, no points on my liscence and only been in once accident which wasnt my fault (i got t-boned). it was going to be 1200 every 6 months for me. i pay less a month on insurance for my gtp than i did for my eclipse. ive got allstate too but they hate guys in florida.

Im telling ya, get yourself another beater car to make as a head primary but still say your gonna drive the pontiac like xx,xxx amount of miles a year. With just the srt4 the insurance was gonna cost me right around 1100$, but when i moved my eclipse over as primary isurance went down by more than half. Just an option for ya, something that helped me out. Just make sure your 100% truthful with the insurance co. Might also want to make sure that they applied all your discounts, they have alot of crazy ones, like 200$ off premium for anitlock brakes and airbags, i had to call them back to make sure they added them the second time, because they didnt the first.

i would do it but i can only have one car at my current apt complex since its a student only type deal and i probably wont move out of here till i graduate and move back to miami. what was cool about the grand prix was that in 97, the gtp was an option for the car so although its a supercharged v6, the insurance company only thinks of it as a run of the mill grand prix with the gtp package. what's crazy about insurance though, is that it woulve been cheaper for me to insure a 350z than it woulve been to insure an srt4. im guessin that is thanks to the dumbass younger kids that comprise quite a bit of the owners.

I know that turbocharged cars have their own insurance bracket. That causes most of the price problems, regardless of how clean your driving record is. I doubt insurance companies differentiate between forced induction systems so I'd imagine your GTP technically shouldn't be much different from insuring an SRT-4. However, certain cars with certain packages (etc) also have a risk factor associated with them. Your typical SRT owner is quite the dipshit and their driving habits reflect as much unfortunately.

yea, i figured that was a problem when i originally considered an srt4. i wouldve gotten it and dealt with the high insurance but i cant leave a car stock and i wouldve had to for most of the year with an srt4. i got lucky with the gtp though as i said in the other post cause as far as the insurance is concerned, this car is a naturally aspirated, 4 door v6; little do they know its a mid/high 13 sec car.

Damn I wish insurance on an SRT-4 would be 1200/6 mos for me, my RS is 1250 every six months
