I always get these feelings with my cars and always decide (well lets buy a nice decent car) so i came upon a 1998 bmw 528i hes selling for pretty cheap. i mean the car is mint. then i come onto this forum again and look at everyone nice cars and such and make me want to keep my eclipse even more haha. I keep having dreams to have this thing fully built with a turbo but never come close. ive had a star turbo kit on it for awhile and decided to part out with it. I now regret doing so... So once again im deciding to keep it and buy a built engine so its less down time for my daily driver. Ill probably just save all my money up like 4k and just go all out into my car. Right now the car desperatly needs a new clutch master cylinder. The clutch feels spongy like theres air in it sometimes so i bleed it and its fine. but the clutch pedal goes all the way to the ground when i push it down. the clutch is fine it grabs and never slips. my moms clutch went on her hyundai santa fe so they replaced it and he clutch still went to the floor. they replaced the master cylinder and it didnt anymore. Its going to need a decent paint job and new weather stripping all around. (got paint spray on some of it). Was thinking of going with the color that malenkos car is.. Sorry i think it just a sweet color. if you lived closer i would buy your car malenko haha.

So you guys think i should sell my car and buy a nice bmw or just keep my 2g and make it practilly brand new? Let me know before I pick the wrong decision.

think about it this way,
Would you rather have a car that you know you have done so much to get where it is and can be proud of it, not to mention it will be LOADS cheaper to fix, and a ton more fun to drive.
OR, you can buy a BMW. yea its a nice flashy toy, and its looks all fancy, but what happens when it fucks up? are you going to be able to come up with $500+ at the drop of a hat because the BMW had some crazy problem? and even if you can fix it yourself, god only knows how much parts are. Hell a power window motor is gonna cost you a lot for one of those. I'd hate to think how much engine parts would cost.

But in the end its always up to what you Want to do. i'd vote keep the eclipse, and just make it more bad ass. I like the feeling of having a bad ass car, (granted a BMw is bad ass in its own rights) but its not a car i built myself and i will never have the pride of knowing what I built just blew the doors off a vette.

solution: get new power seat motor
cost: $900

$900 for a power seat motor! insane, but thats what happens when you have expensive cars.

If it came down to me being in your situation, i'd keep my beater rs. Easy as fuck to work on and it's not shaped like a damn box. Every time my car has broken on me, it's taken about 30ish bucks to fix. If i dont take any breaks, any job i've ever done could be done in 1-2 hours. Parts are sooooooo easy to source at rediculously low prices if you know where to look.

Eclipse>Bimmer. That's how i feel anyway.

late model german.... over engineered to no end and VERY expensive to fix. I work at a german car dealership, most shit to fix costs an arm and a leg, and is nearly impossible for the DIY'er to do

2GNT... simple, easy, and cheap to fix, you won't have to buy a $300 lock assembly if your door won't open, just a $5 lock rod clip, maybe a $50 lock motor.

yeah, you might have some rattles and a less smooth ride but those are easy enough to fix and don't mean a huge cost either.
