#37872, "Looking for another eclipse"

Don't know if anybody remembers me but was a member here a few years back. I actually remembered my password.

Anyways. Ive been wanting to get another eclipse (regretted selling mine) Originally I was looking for one that was working but I came across this, tell me what you think.

$300

1996 GS
-rebuilt engine 40,000 miles ago
-timing belt assembly needs replaced
-transmission seals leak towards the front but tranny has less than 5000 miles on it.
-missing front bumper and headlights
- body and interior in good shape

The owner said he got the timing belt and tranny repairs quoted at about $350. He also said "everything else is fine...all electrical works fluids changed regularly...no metal shavings in oil or tranny. needs the radio reinstalled tho its in the trunk...small crack on the windshield...thats really all thats wrong"

here is a pic (dont know why it doesnt have headlights anymore)

What do you guys think?

me thinks your pic no work!

Have any more info on the rebuild? Parts used? What was done to block/head? Why rebuild was done?
As far as the timing area, you could do that yourself and keep what it would've cost for someone to overcharge you. You being a member a few years ago, i'm sure you know where to look for more info on that subject. I can't speak on the tranny, so I won't. With the info you posted, it seems like a good buy. Get more info though.

Anywhere from $300(Probably blown or very high miles) to $2000 Brand new. Keep checking the BST section; sooner or later you're bound to come across something. Hope this helps; good luck!
