Well two weeks ago I lost my job. I did get a nice severance package so Im not complaining! I have had two interviews and I figure that I should have an offer this or next week.

Since I actually have some free time, I figured that I would start on the engine swap. About a week ago I pulled the factory motor and trans out of the car. I took the accessory brackets off the old motor, sand blasted and painted them. They are now installed on the new motor. I pulled the entire factory fuel system out of the car, and have replaced it with -6 stainless fuel line and all -6an fittings. I also scrubbed every square inch of the engine bay. Had to get rid of the 10 years and 150,000 miles of grime in there. I installed the FMIC(hahn) and cut the bumper and bumper cover to fit it. I did have a pretty good power steering leak. It turns out that the rack was leaking. So I decided to pull the rack while the motor was out. I am waiting for the rebuild kit to arrive for the rack. It should be here tomorrow, Ill finish that up and install the rack. I am also hoping to finish the trans and mount the clutch and trans to the motor tomorrow. At this point, the plan is that the motor is installed by the week end. I have some fab work I want do but I need the motor in place for that


I have been amassing parts for my turbo motor for almost 2 years. the engine itself is done, and has been for a while now. I have been too lazy or too busy to actually put the motor in the car. Ah free time.

Thanks guys, I have to say I havent felt this good in a long time... NO STRESS, no nagging manager breathing down my neck. The only thing that could make this better would be if it were mid spring or early fall. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be doing this shit in the summer heat!

As a side note. I have another interview tomorrow. As far as work is concerned. I am receiving my regular pay for 6 more weeks, then unemployment if I havent found a job by then. I have money aside, plus unemployment, I should be good for about a year or so, with out changing my lifestyle. I donbt want to see if I can do it though. I hope to have a job at the end of my severance.
