So i got up early this morning, and hopped on craigslist. First thing i find is a listing for two 5 speed eagle talons, a 91, and a 93. So, i call the guy, and get the details. the 91 is a FULLY loaded TSi AWD. It has Leather, sunroof, cruise, abs, fog lights. every option under the sun, but the paint is crap. only thing it needs is a turbo rebuild. It has new cv axles, new clutch, new brakes, and almost new rubber. 122k Miles. Car two is a Non turbo 2.0L GS. 178k miles. needs a head gasket. Also loaded. (no sunroof on the 93). So, i got two almost running 1g's. Best part of all? I only paid 1000$ for BOTH of them.
Pics comming soon of the AWD, not picking up the N/T till monday. Non turbo:

Edit: Looked a bit ago, and found the ECU is a EPROM! Wee! also, the transfer case seems to be from the junkyard or something. very clean and you can see the writing on the case.
The front seats are trash, thankfully i have another set in the shed.
*the little bit of antifreeze you see was from draining the radiator. Looked excellent too. no chunks no brown just nice antifreeze*
In the process of replacing gaskets and seals for the hell of it. and look what i find... a new head! the valves, springs, and retainers and valve stem seals are NEW!!
