I am looking for opinions. I just got the renewal of my 3 daily vehicles and its 250.00 more than it was last year. I asked people at work if they had renewed their policies and if they were raised due to the national events that have happened.....answer was no.

I have ALLSTATE and 0 accidents and 0 tickets on my record currently.

I am thinking of going back to State Farm. State farm currently has my superbee and Harley #1.

Harley #2 is on AllState and its 200.00 higher than State Farm.

your opinions or experiences?

Terry

I haven't had that problem so far and I live in Baton Rouge. My insurance has been about $130/month for more than 18 months now and I haven't heard of anyone else's rate going up due to national events.

I say get the cheaper insurance. State Farm has always taken care of my parents when they have needed to use them.

Meh, Nationwide FTW.

I pay about 340.00 LESS than I would anywhere else.

My agent is awesome, never bitched about claims. Even covered my late fee when I forgot to call them with the card number!

Great company all the way. I also have my identity theft insurance through them.

I agree. I've yet to have to make a claim with State Farm, however I switched to them earlier this year from Geico and I instantly noticed the savings. Needless to say I was getting raped by Geico.

What I also like is we have a local branch here in town and it just so happens Maria's cousin works for them. So its nice to work with someone you are comfortable with.

I don't have full coverage on the Eclipse, but it costs me about 24 bucks a month to insure. I'm about to take the collision off of it since I'll be putting it away in the barn at the end of this month.

Biased with State Farm man,
they have my 2 cars, house, the wife's bling and we saved a bunch of money every time we add something new to the policy. always better then the competition.

i had no problems with them what so ever in covering anything from my accident either.
covered the ER, Ambulance charges, new aftermarket bumper (most companies required a seperate rider for my aftermarket parts) rental car, and the body shop. they were actually excited to hear that i was getting the car completely repainted and fixed while it was in the shop for the rear bumper stuff.

one funny note:
my parents have them as well and it came time to renew the insurance on the Ferrari. well since it was 15 years old, the girl said they couldn't insure it!
"Miss, do you know what kind of car this is?"
"hmmmm Ferrari 328, isnt that a BMW or somthing?
"umm no. its a Ferrari"
"well who makes those?"
"never mind can i talk to your supervisor please?"

yeah the supervisor laughed at the conversation, appologised, and got it covered no problem

State farm is great for car coverage, if your record is good their rates are great and they take care of everything. They don't use halfassed repair facilities.

DO NOT insure anything else with them EVER. they have screwed my family 6 ways from sunday on their homeowners policy, dragged their feet on everything and have basically told us that anything we don't have reciepts for won't be covered (all the damn reciepts are ash) We have had to empty the house of the salvageable items ourselves because the company that State Farm hired either didn't bother to show up or only worked for 2-3 hours the days that they did show up. finally, even though the house is empty of salvageable stuff they haven't gotten the construction company to come in and start demolition on the wreckage yet. it has been 2 months now and the only things that have gotten done is what we have done.

personally I will never use State farm ever again. 30+ years of my family being with them and this is how we're being treated?

That sucks.....

State Farm does use halfass repair facilities....I have gone round after round with them over the use of fucked up used parts on my z28. However since i am insuring an eclipse and its paid for, they will just write me a check and i can fix it myself. If i had new cars i would not go back to them. State Farm is cheaper for a reason especially on bikes, in my situation with the cars i own, i can live with that.

I have progressive , They were the cheapest by far and when I had a problem with the local agent, there sales office 3 way called the local office with me and made them fix their mistake with me on the phone so I knew it was taken care of. You could tell they weren't gonna mess around with the local agents, but rather do whatever the customer wanted.

I haven't had to deal with a claim yet, but sense I own all my vehicles I hoped they would just cut my the check and let me handle it.

I have progressive also, they're great answered all my questions fast reponse to a claim I had minor accident agent cut me a check on spot the within 30 mins at my house.

I'm pretty sure you could get a discount for combining all you car plus your Harley.

Discount when you pay on time, also your age too.. Mine went alot after I turned cough 30.

My relatives have SAFE auto but its the same, Only difference between the two, is Safe auto gives Free towing Once every six months within 45 mins, they only cover 30 miles anything beyond than it charged alot Downside its more like an 2 hour wait my mothers neon broke down I waited till it arrived.

Plus the agents are very familar with 2g's. I did a qoute while back asked what my rate would be if added another 2g-1g Gsx full coverage, they qouted me 100 less for my current. He also told me it goes by the year/color of the car not what model

My monthly insurance costs:

1998
EAGLE
TALON ESI
$23.90

2003
FORD
ESCAPE XLS
$34.93

2008
NISSAN
TITAN
$52.13

I have liability only on the Talon and full coverage on the Escape and Titan.

I also pay once a year so I get a bit of a discount. I just divided these numbers by 12 to get my monthly cost. $500 deductibles on both full coverage vehicles. I also always raise the bodily injury protection to $250k/$500k. It's only a few bucks more and if I'm ever in a crash the last thing I want to do is run out of money.

I'm with Geico BTW.

I have AIG for both my house and cars and they're bankrupt and getting bailouts from the government. Their rating hasn't changed, and their rates haven't changed.

IMO trying to pass on poor business decisions to the customer is criminal. Thumbsup for changing carriers, its still a pseudo-free market.

Years ago I switched from Geico (worthlesspieceofshitcavemanbastards!!) to Progressive and they saved me an ungodly amount of money per month. Also to date they are the only insurance company to ever contact me asking me questions so they can LOWER my rates. While other insurance companies had raised my rates when other assholes had hit me in a parking lot while I was not even operating my car! They also DO NOT use half ass repair facilities and actually gave me the list of several body shops in the area including mitsubishi dealerships. They have continued to lower my rates on a regular basis since I started with them, and now I pay about $27 a month to insure the Eclipse with Zero tickets and Zero accidents on my record.

If your looking to wholeheartedly fuck someone over in an accident I do say your best bet would be to carry Travelers Ins. They are the most horrendous insurance I have ever had the displeasure to deal with and even after all these years I still am appauled at the way I was treated by them. I can only imagine how they treat their customers if they treat a potential customer in that fashion. *(Accusing me of planting my vehicle behind their client in such a fashion that my stationary vehicle actually struck their clients vehicle that was moving. Also accusing me of creating more damage to the vehicle than was done in the accident as to warrant higher repair costs and delay the repair of my own vehicle. While all the while they refused to pay for my rental vehicle causing me to miss several days of work and subsequently accusing me of fraud to gain more monetary payment from them... while I losing substantial income myself.)
