Because Terry is a sharp guy. If it were a wider angle shot where you could see the block deck it would be even more obvious but once you've seen enough sloped SRT-4 pistons they stand out like sore thumbs...even when a valve snaps off the stem. emoji

You're good Terry.

Well here is the fuckup.

I was drilling/tapping my Venom fuel rail to accept a -6AN fitting on the supply/feed side and I did not realize how thin the wall was, drilled the hole out and tapped it and see what hapened. I kind of went too thin above the injector and it opened up the hole for the injector itself, well, kind of oval now.

So, do you think this should still seal okay with the oring? I personally do not see it being a problem sealing, but could it effect the injector spray pattern or anything else?

I can clearly see the Stem of the valve, the very first place it hit the piston. I can see the shape of the piston as well as the cooling jacket and the cracks in the block. Your looking at the cylinder side of the valve too.

Its all in the attention to detail!

Mike and I stay just close enough on the board to know what each other is doing, not exactly the fine details but close enough to offer advise.

Mike: the rail should be ok, as long as the the sides of the o-ring seating surface is not damaged then your ok. Do not tap/thread into that region obviously. Check the fitment of the rail and injectors and make sure the rail does not use that bottoming out area to hold the injectors tight. It shouldnt and most likely doesnt but make sure. If it does, you will need to shim the mount brackets a tiny bit to take the pressure off that edge that you just thinned out.

Terry, I put a decent amount of force to it at the shop and it didnt move. I didnt think it would be a issue of sealing around the oring since nothing was damaged on the round edges, but I thought it could possibly effect the spraying pattern, that was my only concern.

Now thursday I will be bitching at my Matco dealer for not selling a self bottoming tap in that size emoji

Although I dont need a washer in every hole, I think I will do so, just so all are spaced correctly like each other...

Thanks for the info buddy.

I just dont want the aluminum to fold and the injector push through the rail...it is pretty thin Terry.
