Why?

There are a lot of good legitimate parts sold on ebay. It's not all junk just because it's offered for sale on ebay.

Several large distributors such as Summit, Jegs, Rockauto to name a few, offer parts for sale on ebay.

Yes with a disclaimer - I would only trust certain parts. exhausts/intercoolers/pretty much anything that doesn't have any moving or electrical parts. Of course that pertains to the no-name brand stuff. I wouldn't be opposed to buying an actual name-brand product off ebay if it looked legit (ie not incredibly underpriced) Also, items from a reputable vendor (not ebay reputable, but people who have a rep outside of ebay)

yes, as long as you know what your looking for in the beginning, and not beign swayed by, "well this looks close to what i want but is a no name brand for 1/2 the price", also when looking for authentic parts you need to know enough about the part your looking for to spot the fake knockoffs (ie HKS wastegates and the SSQV are prime examples)
going to eBay crusing for parts is asking for trouble, but you might end up with some cool "JDM Tight YO!" parts

Yes, I do. However, like previously stated, you must be very careful about the source. More often than not I check it for OEM replacement parts, should our BST forum fail me. As for "performance" parts; I try to avoid it like diseased whores.

there's a decent ammount of things that can be had on ebay that aren't junk or ripoffs. occasionally certain things need a little reworking to get the most out of them *cough, obx, cough* but as long as you use some discretion you can get some good stuff at great prices.

known good: Tsudo exhausts, intercooler and piping kits, OEM parts, strut sets.

decent (possibly with a little work): Ebay headers, OBX LSD, projector headlamps

steer clear: anything new "namebrand" with odd coloring or unusually low pricing (look at the manufacturer's website to make sure things look EXACTLY the same), strut bars, coil springs

I try to support local or reputable vendors for any parts I buy for any of my cars.

Thats my point. I have been ripped on for buying parts off ebay but the thing is I havnt had any trouble out of these parts I have bought. I know what im looking for and I know when things look fishy. I was ust curious as to how a majority of you guys felt about ebay.
