#33678, "Fishing trip to Alaska! w/ pics"

I just got back from a fishing trip to Alaska. We were battered constantly by 10-15 foot waves for 4 days or so but came out alright. The first pics were taken during the only calm couple of hours we had. I'm not sure if there are any other fishermen on this site but I figured I'd post up a few pics of this trip anyway.

well that makes my saturday night of blue fishing look like nothing. Looks like you had a good time, but Alaska's too cold for me.

I agree its way to cold. I would have much rather gone south again. I was down in Cabo last December and hooked into some Dorado and striped marlin. I would much rather be in that warm weather. Alaska was a one time deal for me I think.

That's pretty badass. My friend's dad goes up there every year for some fishing and always brings home some monster sized fish. It's gorgeous up there and I'll be planning a trip there in a couple years to do a kayaking expedition with my brother. Looks like you had a good time man.

Looking at the last three pics... maybe next time you'll use a bigger fishing hook huh?

Let me guess, that was the one that got away. emoji

Ahh man my uncle Karl does guided deep sea fishing out there. I have been and its a blast and the fish are always huge lol. That halibut you got is the best, eat that sucker. My mom caught one 125 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes, the 357 magnum decided its fate before we pulled it up on the boat, to avoid it knocking someone off or breaking someones leg haha.

ohh and btw, June in alaska is not cold people!!!!!!!!! Just stay out of the water cause even if its august and 85 degrees the water is so cold it will shut your body down in the ocean.

Great catches man! I've never got the chance to go out into open water like that and fish. Stuck to hitting reservoirs, rivers, local lakes, and small ponds round these parts in Indiana.

Looks like it was a helluva good time.
