It's one thing to continue the general race of the other participants but that driver should have stopped and made sure he didn't kill someone. He deserves to be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

well if your gonna park your happy ass along a course like that your gonna have to expect somthing like that will eventually happen. maybe not at your turn but somewhere on the course.
i'll stick to either driving the race or watching from behind an approved crash barrier

That wasn't an accident, that was an off. He hit some terrain features that rolled onto the racetrack of their own free will, knowing full well a racecar was about to drive within 5 feet of them at a high rate of speed. The people who get gored in the running of the bulls are not accident victims.
If you want safe racetracks, go watch Nascar in a stadium from 300 yards away.

I can see you don't watch WRC. It is always all about the time. Look at the Killer Bs in the mid 80s. The precedent was set years ago that if you-as a spectator-get too close to the course and you get hit, then it is your fault. Anyone who knows anything about rally knows how dangerous it is to be on the course.
It sucks that they got hit, but it doesn't surprise me at all.
