#32802, "What should I get for a daily driver?"

Well I'm considering getting a second car, for a few different reasons...

1) Better gas mileage - I drive 70+ miles a day, and my truck gets like 17-18 MPG. Not the worst ever, but I could do much better.

2) Keep the miles off my truck - I bought my truck brand new, and it already has almost 50,000 miles. I've only owned it for 2 years this June. It's paid off, but I would like to keep the miles low so I can keep it for a long-ass time.

3) I miss having a car. I like driving the truck, but I like cars too much to not have something somewhat quick, and decent handling that is fun to drive.

So what can you guys come up with? Looking for something around $10,000 and under (maybe a little higher, but not too much). Something that gets pretty good gas mileage, probably 25 mpg or higher. Something that's kinda quick. Obviously it won't be real fast if it gets decent gas mileage. And something kinda cool. I'm not gonna be rocking a prius or a 4 door civic or anything like that.

So what do you guys think? I have a few ideas, but I wanna see what you guys come up with.

Go with something nice and luxurious. I have an 03 Audi A4, FWD, 1.8L turbo with the sport package. It is definitely slow in a sporty kind of way though. Get's around 35mpg at 65 mpg without the A/C turned on, and it is very pimp and comfortable to ride in. They are fairly cheap to maintain, $100 oil change every 10K miles or 6 months. Mine books at about 12,500 right now, so you could pick one up close to your price range.

Depending on what your priorities are whether they be budget, fuel economy,...etc

Lately I've been contemplating buying a Yaris hatchback when the Neon finally lets go as a commuter. It is extremely efficient on fuel, easy to park and manuever, as well as good handling. With the rising cost of fuel in southern california, fuel economy is my biggest concern.

Although my goal for this summer was to up the boost and track the car till the stock block finally let go, I'm heavily considering making the 2gnt more stock looking and DD'ing that again, probably save myself $100/month in gas. I just gotta get the time and find the few parts i need now. Would probably make for a good excuse to get tires for my rims since they've been off the car since being powdercoated
